Nestled near Seokchon Lake in Seoul, Kimminjoo Hanbok is a sanctuary of modern grace and timeless craft. Sunlight fills its spacious fitting rooms, and the subtle scent of wood lingers in the air. Here, tradition is not preserved in glass; it is lived, worn, and reimagined.
Crafted from 100% natural silk and inspired by earthbound tones, each hanbok is an expression of refined restraint and contemporary sophistication.
The name Kimminjoo Hanbok-jeom evokes the elegance of classic tailoring ateliers. This isn’t a place for mass-produced garments — it’s a studio where each hanbok is carefully tailored to the client’s body, personality, and moment in life. From the flow of the fabric to the nuance of color, everything is thoughtfully composed to become a hanbok that is truly yours.
Over the past five years, designer Minjoo Kim has worked with clients across the U.S. and Europe, creating custom hanboks for international customers. This global experience informs her ability to honor Korean tradition while designing with a distinctly modern, worldly eye — the very essence of Kimminjoo Hanbok.
From bespoke commissions to curated rentals, every design begins by listening — to the story, the need, the occasion. Each piece holds not only craftsmanship, but philosophy.
“Hanbok is not merely a tradition.
It is elegance. It is a vessel for thought.”
– Minjoo Kim, Founder & Designer
